Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and talented Senior WordPress Plugin Developer to join our dynamic team at SpiderDevs. As a Senior WordPress developer, you will play a key role in designing and developing high-quality plugins, contributing to the overall success of our clients’ projects. You will be working closely with our team of developers and designers to create user-friendly, scalable solutions while ensuring that the plugins adhere to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain WordPress plugins from concept through to completion, with a strong focus on scalability and performance.
  • Design, code, and modify existing plugins to improve functionality and resolve bugs.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure seamless integration with WordPress themes.
  • Implement and customize Gutenberg blocks for modern editing experiences.
  • Work with WordPress REST API for enhanced site and plugin functionality.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend WordPress capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in WordPress development, plugin architecture, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that the team follows coding standards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues in plugins and WordPress sites.
  • Ensure all plugins are secure, efficient, and optimized for performance.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in HTML, CSS, PHP, OOP, MVC, MySQL, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with React and Gutenberg Block development
  • In-depth knowledge of WordPress plugin development and WordPress architecture
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong understanding of SQL databases and queries
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented code
  • Solid understanding of website security, user authentication, and data handling best practices

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with WordPress REST API
  • Familiarity with third-party API integration
  • Experience with automated testing and continuous integration (CI/CD)
  • Knowledge of Agile development processes

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English
